Should I have never given my friend (girl) a buzz cut?

me and my friend erin are 16 year old girls. the other day she asked me to give her a buzz cut. I thought she was kidding because she is really pretty and popular and gets alot of guys. And she had really pretty long brown hair that i wish i had. But she told me that she really wanted to try it and if im a good friend I should do it. so i got my brother clippers and gave her the 1/4" buzz cut she wanted. And her parents did flip out and im grounded. but other then that should i have never done it because she did want it? And was i being a good or bad friend by doing it?
